Time for some facts abut viking funerals! The classic scenario of a burning ship being sent out at sea is mostly fiction, but based in some reality- People were sometimes buried in ships that stayed on land, mainly in coastal areas. Some areas usually cremated the dead, some didn’t. The dead were buried with items to bring to the afterlife- Sadly, this sometimes included sacrificed slaves.
