A (mostly) talented blacksmith and a devoted family woman.
She has found a place in life that she should be content with,
but the unrest in society around her is something that keeps pestering her in the back of her head,
which she handles by trying to be the stable foundation for her family.
This devotion to being strong for the people around her does come with the
hangup that talking about negative emotions and showing weakness really isn’t her strong suit.
She is a leader type guided by a sense of justice, and she does not look
kindly upon those hurting those weaker than them.
This has managed to get some bad blood between her and certain authorities.
Unni
Age: 27
Species: Arctic fox
A laid-back traveling musician, exploring the mountains,
forests and coasts of scandinavia with her friend and his kids,
whom she is the “cool aunt” to. She takes things in stride and
lives for the next adventure, interesting person, tasty meal or
gripping folk song she might stumble upon. As the most extroverted
of the group, she easily makes friends, but also
fights all the battles for them, and she isn’t all that good at choosing her battles.
Shirin
Age: 22
Species: Pine marten
A mild-tempered and timid rune carver. She greatly enjoys gathering new knowledge, both of older runic writing and from her persian merchant fahter’s scientific text. However, she sometimes finds this life a bit lonesome but she has never really dared to take the step out of her comfort zone, and usually finds some excuse not to take the step. In such situation her work is a comfort to her, keeping her up at night and busy through the days.

Species: Boar
A scarred prisoner, having spent years of her life in the prime chieftain’s prison fortress, with her desire for revenge being the only thing keeping her alive. When she is busted out of the prison fortress by the weapon thief, she loses her chance of vengeance, and sets her revenge sight on her, with her great determination as her greatest asset.

Species: Aurochs
The greates enemy of the Aesir worshippers. The weapin thief is a nigh-indestructible jotun striking down the aesir side whenever they seem to have a chance of victory. Why she fights them, no one knows, except perhaps Herja, whom the weapon thief seems to have a past history with.
Nanna
Age: 35
Species: Brown bear
Hillevi’s wife. She is a vala (Schamaness) with a great devotion to her goddess, Freya. When that isn’t keeping her busy enough, she also works in the smithy together with Hillevi. She tends to have her head in the clouds, but she is also empathic and caring, even when Hillevi tries to shield her from her own struggles.

Species: Mountain hare
An old friend of Unni, and her travel partner and bandmate. He was the one who got her into music when they were both small. He was raised by his schaman uncle but ended up on the artistic and vagabondic tracks instead. he greatly enjoys this life of discovering new things of beauty and interest, although he tends to be neurotic and let other people walk all over him, and relies on Unni to fight his battles for him.
He is a devoted single dad to his baby daughter, Helbme (An unplanned but very loved child) and an adoptive father figure to the rowdy teen Ailu.
Ailu
Age: 14
Species: Snowy owl
A cranky and snarky teen, with a surprising musical talent. This talent led to him and Vide connecting, eventually resulting in Vide more or less adopting him and bringing him back on track. He is rowdy and can sometimes be aggressive but under his exterior, he has a good heart, and a big respect and love for his surrogate family (Even if that love sometimes expresses itself as snark)
Shadi
Age: 29
Species: Pine marten
Shirin’s older sister. She is a bold and adventurous woman. As a child, she was greatly inspired by her father’s stories from his life as a traveling merchant, and she followed in his footsteps as an adult. Compared to Shirin, she is a lot more confident and outgoing, resulting in a few small clashes between the sisters, although they deeply love eachother.

Species: Osprey
Shadi’s best friend. She was a navigator and watcher on the ship Shadi started to work on, and they hit it off when spending a lot of time alone together on the top of the mast. On the occations when she isn’t out traveling, she gets along well with Shadi’s family.
Mithra
Age: 73
Species: Pine marten
Shirin & Shadi’s father. He was born in Persia and his longing to see the world drove him to become a traveling merchant, spending his prime years traveling around western asia, europe and northen africa. When he hit middle age, he settled down in Scandinavia after meeting Gerd. He continued studying the scientifical discoveries from his homeland, and when his vision deteriorated as he aged, he and Shirin would come to study them together.

Shirin & Shadi’s mother. A calm & stable woman, and also a talented textileworker and carpenter. She met her husband Mithra after going through a divorce with her previous husband, and was greatly attracted to his man of the world-ness complimenting her more down to earth-ness.

Species: Moose
The queen of Jämtland and the leader of the Aesir worshippers. She is fully devoted to her gods and her cause, and she highly values strength and honour. She is fiercly determined to bring her side to victory.
Ulf
Age: 39
Species: Wolf
The leader of the vanir worshipper soldiers. He is a devoted follower of his gods, determined to put an end to the Aesir rule of Jämtland, whatever the cost. He leads an army of soldiers, made up of his children and other sympatizers.
